2017 Goals and Challenges (January Update)

2017-goals-and-challengesHello Lovelies!

It’s a little over half a month into the new year so I thought a little mid month update post was in order. I didn’t make any “official” resolutions. That’s not to say that I don’t want to lose a bit of weight and to eat healthier but I’m not going to beat myself up about it. I will be setting up a weight page in my planner (when I get new paper). This is mainly so I can see my progress. I’m a visual person, always have been. So by seeing the progress and maybe putting in a fitness vision page, hopefully I can keep my head up. Even if I falter, I can still see the progress and motivational things I put in. I’m not going to be setting a goal weight, instead my goal is to just make some progress. Hopefully that will keep me going and by not setting a true goal, I can be happy about what I do accomplish.
I have set up a few other goals and challenges for the year and month. Little fun things that I enjoy. Check them out below ↓

I have started using my Goodreads account that I set up last year. My goal for this year is 100 books read. So far I have 10 books down. *Whoo!*
I am in several planner groups on Facebook one of which has a separate reading group. The group has yearly reading challenges and great book conversation. I am doing one of their reading challenges where each month I need to read a certain type of book. January is a dystopian/apocalypse graphic novel. I chose Saga, but have only finished Vol.1. I suppose I could check this month as finished but I have decided to read the other volumes. Anybody else doing any reading challenges or have certain goals? I’m thinking of doing a weekly (maybe every other week) post about the book(s) I’m reading and my thoughts. Perhaps you could post other book ideas that you are reading or have read and enjoyed. I don’t have all my books for the year yet. I love getting sugestions!

I have started listing again, but with another group. The same Facebook group I listed up above, started an “unofficial” FB group for listing. It’s for the members of the main group that love listing and wanted to do it with the women we all know and love. I am slightly very behind(of course) since I haven’t had too much time for myself. I am getting caught up so if you would like to see some of those lists (or to follow the hashtags to see others) then follow me @mydailyblissblog

2017 Planner

So here’s the thing. I really don’t have my 2017 planner set up like I would like it. I am far from planner peace. Even though I don’t have that (seemingly) mythical planner peace, I do have a little something to get me by.
Right now I am using the Classic Happy Planner. I have been “using” it since July 2016. Since the beginning of the year, I have been using it more. It took me some getting used to, since I normally use horizontals and this is a vertical.
Overall, I like it. I don’t have any stickers so I just use my Papermate Ink Joy Gel pens that were given to me in a RAK. I wish I had some sticker kits to use but it’s okay without. I’m not too sold on the discs. They feel kind of flimsy and feel kind of cheap. I keep expecting one to break on me. I do like the ability to add and take things  out, though. I didn’t buy the hole punch since I found a single hole punch and scissors do just fine. The hole depth and shape are different, but it seems to hold everything just the same. I haven’t had any issues.
I keep looking at the Erin Condrin and My Prima Planner (I am in love with Breathe). They are a bit out of my price range at the moment so I’ll be waiting to try one of those.

So tell me…

How is your year so far? Do you have reading goals or challenges? Any book suggestions? What are your 2017 planners like if you have one?

As always, I hope your day is filled with Bliss ♥

Get Your Listing On!

Hello lovely people! I know this is a day late. I try to post on Mondays and Fridays but with so much going on it didn’t happen. On that note, ready for something awesome? (More awesome for me but you may have some interest in it)

#ListersGottaList June

Hopefully everyone had a great weekend and of course a happy Monday (insert your boo’s for Monday here). This Monday wasn’t all bad. That is, it wasn’t so bad if you are a #ListersGottaList junkie like myself. The first marked the start of June’s listing challenge. If you haven’t heard of this before it is a set of daily prompts that you get from TheResetGirl. You can download the month here. I know some of you are trying to figure out what in the world is so great about that. Well, I can explain it but most won’t get it unless you are like me. I am a listing person. I write lists for everything and I mean everything. It’s the only way for me to remember things (that and my planners) and it calms me down. So doing these daily prompts is a chance for me to take ten minutes (or more if I can get it) to myself and relax. I can reflect on the prompts and interpret them as I want. It’s my time to just relax. I don’t always get to them daily but I play catch up when I can. So I highly recommend downloading the list if that is something you are into. You don’t have to get fancy with it like some people do. Just do what you want with them and have fun with it. When you are done with them, you can keep them as memory books or scraps to look back on. You can also share your lists with people on Instagram using #listersgottalist. Go ahead and check out what other people are doing. Just click the first link above. Check out my first day below.

June 1st. Kind of simple, definitely messy but it works for me. Other days may be more or less done up depending on time.

As the picture caption says, it is rather messy. It’s not very put together but I’m ok with that. I could have filled the entire page with just the list but I decided to put a couple embellishments on the page. Some days I may just write the list, other days I may fill the page with whatever I can fit. As I said it just depends on time and how I feel that day.

I forgot to mention that this month there are new prompts just for kids! So if you have kids, this would be a great activity to do together. It will get them thinking and help with their writing. You can get them to decorate their pages even. If you like to keep memory boxes or the such, this would be something great to look back on and see how much they have changed. I may try this with my 4 year old and see how much he likes it. I will have to write everything but he can decorate the pages. You can get the kid prompts in the same place as the adults which is linked above.

I hope everyone enjoys their week and maybe give this a try. Just taking a moment to stop, think and write things down can really relax you (at least for some) so try it and see if you can use it to relieve some stress. Not into these prompts? Look on the web for others or just write what you feel like for the day. Thank you for reading!

My List Obsession

Hello lovely people!

I’m a list person. Seriously, I write lists for everything! Things I need to remember, groceries, books I’ve read, books I want to read, memories, products I’ve tried or want, there is no end to what I list. I even decorate my lists (just like I do my planner pages), it is just so much more fun! Making and decorating lists are also very relaxing for me.

Due to my planner and list obsession, I follow many people through Facebook, Instagram, and blogs that share the same obsession and post all kind of goodies. Through these followings I found one way to help with my list obsession (more like help it grow), with TheResetGirl. She is the hostess of the ListersGottaList challenge. This challenge is done monthly and she gives you daily list prompts that you can interpret and do with as you wish. I love the prompts. It gives me something daily to think about and get lost in (even if it is only 10 minutes). Sometimes I don’t get to the daily prompt so I just go back and do them as I have time. Kids don’t care that you have some list making to do :). Most of the time I try to decorate but sometimes I go very minimal. I like to draw inspiration from what others are doing sometimes so I check out Instagram and Facebook. A lot of people post their pictures so there is never a shortage. You can find the challenge website here. If you are curious about how other people are doing the prompts you may search Instagram using this  #ListersGottaList also check out her Instagram to see all of her amazing planner photos and her take on the challenge.

As I said, I have an obsession, so I spend way more time than I should looking through everyone’s photos. It relaxes me so it can’t be so bad, right? I love how different everyone is and I gather a lot of inspiration from others. I would post some of my own photos but my camera is on the fritz right now (so sad), but I will update this post when I get things fixed. Seriously, if you have a thing for lists then check this out. Also check everyone else out as well. There are huge communities on Facebook, Instagram and other social media sites (who knew??) that you can stalk through and get some great inspiration from or connect with others. On that note I will take my leave. I hope everyone has a lovely day!

Anyone else have a list obsession or even planner obsession? Comment below! Maybe you have other places or people that you love to stalk that will help me (or not 🙂  ) with my little obsession.
